Delicious Holiday Cranberries for a New Twist on Tradition!
Did Grandma ever forget to add the sugar to those fresh cranberries for the holidays? You bet she did! Maybe no one showed her that you can make your cranberries naturally sweeter when you start with apples! Yes, indeed apples can bring this holiday tradition at the dinner table a little more family-friendly so your younger generation will partake. The addition of apples to your fresh cranberry sauce will add natural sweetness so there is less added sugar to those tart little red berries which is always a good thing. The apples add sweetness and fiber so this is a sure bet for nutrition for all. This also doubles as a great compote for adding to the top of Black Friday pancakes for the gang before they rush off for the day. If you are looking for ways to upgrade your healthy lifestyle, start with fresh produce and work up from there.
